Sony unveiled the first Internet HDTV with Google TV at an event this week in New York City, New York. The company has introduced four different models — all of which will come preloaded with applications such as CNBC, Napster, NBA, Netflix, Pandora, Twitter, and YouTube. The new Sony HDTVs also include built-in Wi-Fi along with four HDMI inputs and four USB inputs.

.

According to Sony, the new line of Internet HDTVs includes:

The 46-inch Sony Internet TV NSX-46GT1 — $1,399.99

The 40-inch Sony Internet TV NSX-40GT1 — $999.99

The 32-inch Sony Internet TV NSX-32GT1 — $799.99

The 24-inch Sony Internet TV NSX-24GT1 – $599.99

The 24-inch model features a CCFL backlight LCD, while the bigger models have been equipped with Edge LED backlight displays. The devices will become available at Sony Style outlets beginning this weekend. However, the new Sony Internet HDTVs will make their way to Best Buy on October 24. All of the different models include a hand-held RF QWERTY keypad remote with an incorporated optical mouse.

An official remote control application for Android will be made available this Fall. (Which, along with various other un-official apps, should hopefully improve upon the reportedly clumsy remote.) Additionally, the HDTVs will be able to download applications from the Android Market in early 2011.

The truth is, this type of technological advancement, along with tablets (aka iPad), will likely create a new Internet.

It’s official, Project Natal has moved beyond its codename pseudonym and received its official name… Kinect. I think it’s perfect. Combining the key aspects of the Xbox 360 add-on: Being virtually connected to our consoles with the physical kinetic attribute of how we will be controlling them in games, entertainment, and more.

One of the coolest things about what the new Xbox 360 Experience is bringing to the table is that it is truly going to transform the living/family room. Not just by its unique gaming experience, and the ability of families being able to play together but… also by offering something unique for every member of the household. The overall strategy and direction Xbox has taken is pure genius. If they keep this up, Microsoft may well become one of the major players in our living room in the coming years.

From a gaming perspective Kinect for Xbox 360 is poised to open up entirely new audiences for Xbox – those that, up till now, have been accustomed to the Wii – families. Entire families. And they’ll move from the Wii too. Here why:

UPDATE 10/21/2010:

Microsoft just announced that the official launch of Microsoft Kinect will take place at Toys”R”Us, in Times Square, New York where you will get to play exclusive games before their release date, free-prizes and exclusive performances.

Official Launch Date: November 4, 2010
